Runyan Takes GOP Colleague on Tour of Hurricane Sandy Devastation
Washington, D.C. – On Tuesday January 8th, 2013, Congressman Jon Runyan (R-NJ) toured Seaside Heights with Congressman Steven Palazzo (R-MS). In order to understand Hurricane Sandy’s impact on New Jersey and New York, Congressman Palazzo requested from Congressman Runyan a tour of the affected areas in Congressman Runyan’s district.
“I am pleased that Congressman Palazzo has decided to come to New Jersey and witness, firsthand, the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy,” said Congressman Runyan. “It is important for Members of Congress to understand the severity of the devastation caused by the storm and how much work there is to be done for a full recovery. I would welcome any of my colleagues to come to New Jersey before the scheduled vote on January 15th, so they can truly understand how vital these funds are to the recovery and the residents of New Jersey.”
The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the final installment of the aid package for Hurricane Sandy on January 15th. Congressman Runyan will continue to work with the New Jersey Delegation on a bipartisan basis to ensure this legislation is approved in a timely manner.
