Runyan Receives Award From Senior’s Organization
Washington, D.C. – On Monday August 13th, Congressman Jon Runyan (R-NJ) received the “2012 Standing Up for American Seniors Award” from RetireSafe. The award is given to Members of Congress who show outstanding service to senior citizens.
“I am honored to be recognized for my work to protect our nation’s senior citizens and the programs that they rely on,” said Congressman Runyan. “Seniors have paid into Medicare and Social Security their entire working careers and now many use these programs to live their lives. This is why I have worked to ensure that these programs are protected, shored-up, and remain financially viable for current and future generations. I look forward to continuing my work to ensure that seniors continue to receive the benefits they earned and that our children’s generation will also be able to receive these benefits.”
