Runyan Announces FEMA Grants For Seaside Heights and Brick Sandy Recovery

May 2, 2013

Washington, D.C. – Last week, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded $1.39M in assistance to Seaside Heights, and $1.47M to Brick to help the towns recover after Super Storm Sandy.

These grants will provide federal funding to Seaside Heights and Brick for Emergency Protective Measures to assist in projects such as clearing roadways, providing sheltering, and around the clock police protection for facilities destroyed or damaged as a result of Hurricane Sandy.

Runyan made the following statement on the grants: “I was pleased to see FEMA award this funding to Seaside Heights, Brick, and other towns throughout New Jersey.  Seaside Heights and Brick suffered catastrophic damage during Hurricane Sandy and this money is critical to helping the towns recover and rebuild. With the summer season quickly approaching, community leaders are looking forward to welcoming families back to the shore, which is why these funds are so important at this time.”
